A significant international financial institution with an Australian operation in Sydney engaged 4impact Technology Services to deliver a novel Dynamic Currency Conversion adaptor to allow international merchants to provide a local currency option to online credit card purchasers.

The clients’ architecture was very modular, driven by a need to support incremental feature development with no loss of quality. The overarching corporate governance requirement was to retain
full development IP ownership and for any solution to comply with their own global technical, enterprise and security architecture as well as
stringent local regulations
such as PCI compliance.

Rapidly and Cost Effectively Delivering Complex and Extensible Payment Gateway Solutions

The Problem
The Company’s legacy applications presented a commercial dilemma, costly to maintain or replace, no substantial local development capability, increasing gap to competitor products, inability to scale legacy systems and global IT infrastructure requirements, constrained by local PCI compliance.
How we perform to win
Upon conclusion of a short initial assessment phase, 4impact Technology Services and the client agreed to approach the project using an “Agile” software delivery model. The client had a firm understanding of the nature of the system, however it was understood that the detail of the system would only be confirmed after a number of iterations of the software.
A Product Backlog of the features required was drafted and agreed between the client and 4impact Technology. A fixed number of resources and sprints were allowed to ensure the client had a firm price for the project.
Prior to each sprint the storycards to be delivered were agreed with the Client. During each sprint the progress of each storycard was tracked and reported upon daily to provide a clear indication of the progress of the software development process.
At the end of each sprint the software was delivered to the customer to be installed and tested within their own secure environments.
Our commitment to deliver
The project was a success with our client rolling the product out to a growing number of their national and international customers. A number of upgrades have been requested and delivered to the client and further discussions are in progress for significant upgrades to their systems. The project delivered all of the clients’ requirements for a high quality, extensible solution that was PCI compliant.
