India Part 5 - A Bit of R&R

So the formal part of our trip came to an end and the rest of the tour team from Opportunity International went their separate ways. Mark and I stayed on for an extra day to see some of the sights. We had come this far and so we booked a trip to Agra, where the Taj Mahal is. Only 200km away so we really should go and see it. How long could it possibly take to get there? Answer: 5 hours!! Yes, we left at 6.30am on the Saturday morning and it still took that long. We were ready to gnaw our arms off as Mark and I are both fairly Type A. Being stuck in a car (with each other) for that long was not an experience that I will reflect back on with fondness. Going to Taj Mahal and Agra Fort most definitely are. We've included a few pictures of the day for you to enjoy.

So the trip is over. It has been an amazing experience. We have learnt so much and had our eyes opened to the extremes of India - beauty and poverty. We are also adamant, that the daily funds we provide to Opportunity International through the work of our fabulous consultants is the best money that we spend. It changes lives and will be a legacy of this organisation that everyone involved with it should be remarkably proud.

We want you all to see it, feel it, believe it and do it! This gives hope and purpose to so many people!
