The Power of 'Hello'
Life in 2011 is challenging. We have to work hard to pay the bills. We have to work hard to please everyone in our lives. Are we really enjoying oursleves anymore or has life gotten a little unbalanced. If you are reading this nodding, don't worry. I am betting that most of us are in the same boat.
Life will always be challenging whilst we live in 'bubbles'. Of course no one else could be going through what we are going through! Rubbish! We are all humans, we have strengths and weaknesses. We tend to focus on the bad and not the good. I truly believe that all people are created good and it is only personal fear that creates bad decisions.
So what is life all about? Is it about material possessions? Is it about winning at all costs? Is it about being perfect. I don't think so.
Life is and always will be about the way people make us feel. C'mon you know it is! We all need to be loved and need to be listened to.
I feel that somewhere over the years we have lost the compass on what really matters. Is it just me or is it hard to get a hello out of people nowadays. Whether at the supermarket, in the elevator or in the corridor at work, people seem to be more focussed in their personal 'bubbles' and not taking advantage of the power of 'Hello'. With hello, comes a smile. Trust and rapport develops from many hellos delivered in a consistent manor. Relationships start to form and your life is better off for most of these relationships. And...it costs nothing to be courteous.
Maybe I am a little bit old fashioned but it makes sense to me that great things start from 'Hello'. Let’s take action today and see if we can make a difference in our work environments, our communities and in our relationships overall.
