The Power of People
What an amazing week! - It's hard to believe what Brisbane, Queensland has just gone through. First, central Queensland was ravaged by flood through Rockhampton and then the water headed south; first to Gympie, then Toowoomba, the Lockyer Valley and finally Ipswich and Brisbane.I am not

sure how you are feeling, but I have found the whole thing quite unbelievable. I just never quite believed it would happen nor on the scale that it has happened. Thank heavens for the Wivenhoe and Somerset Dams or the impact could have been even more catastrophic. At times like this it can be quite hard to know what to do. I have heard a lot of people talk about being 'numb' - the sense of shock quite overwhelming. Thankfully, thousands upon thousands have turned out to lend a hand. They have gone into the streets and homes of strangers and given their time and their love to help their fellow Queenslanders.
The volunteering website isnt taking any more registrations because over 60000 people enrolled. Over 20000 people got onto the streets over the weekend.
That has filled me with great spirit. It brings it back to basics because it just goes to show that when all is hopeless and lost it is still people helping people that gives hope.
Get out and do your part. Contribute your time and Contribute your money. Queensland needs you now.
Keep your family and your loved ones safe.
